New Fire Hall

Shelby's new fire hall is progressing however slowly. It has been over a year in the building and work still continues. Workers have been working inside and outside on on the old windows left over from the Meadowlark School building. There is no word on when work will be complete.

2008 5K Dash For Health

The 5th annual 5K Dash For Health race got off to a windy start this morning with gusts of 33 mph. The forty participants did not let the wind or spits of rain stop them from enjoying their run, jog and walk. Adults paid $15 and children 10 and under paid $10. About 10 walked the 3.1 mile course that winds through Shelby and the others kept up a brisk pace. First place went to Brice Grotbo of Shelby pictured below with a time of 20:49. We at NBMC can't believe he won the race in those sandals... He didn't, he had his running shoes on for the race. The 40th place went to Richard Clark from just west of Shelby with a time of 63:53. See the 6/12/08 Shelby Promoter at the Toole County Library for all the times.
