President Clinton In Town?

May 18th, 2006-
Getting looks and stares from most all who passed by today was a big, long Fleetwood Cadillac limo. Parked on Main St. for most of the afternoon, the elegant black car with dark tinted windows was starting rumors flying and we at NBMC are not going to stop that trend... Hint, the car is from Washington, D.C. but came here from Texas...
We stopped and took photos but could not locate anyone to give us an interview, so we left. Driving back through Main we were amazed to see that the limo was now sporting U.S. Federal flags mounted in the the gleaming chrome flag holders on each front fender. NBMC again stopped and took more photos and just as we were about to leave, the driver and owners walked up and entered the car. More and our interview later... Another hint, during our interview NBMC spotted cut crystal "rocks" glasses at the wet bar in the back...

Car Fire Downtown Shelby

May 16th, 2006 1:50 AM-
Firefighters were again called out to another vehicle fire. This time it was an older Cadillac car that was parked in the First State Bank parking lot behind Rainbow Conoco. A Toole County Deputy spotted the burning car and radioed that the vehicle was burning too hard for a simple fire extinguisher to handle. When NBMC arrived shortly after, the car fire flames were about 10 feet high and a small explosion was heard as we snaped photos. The car was far enough from most structures as to not endanger them but it was somewhat close to a Three Rivers data handling building. Firefighters had the blaze knocked down fast and the fire was out in about 15 minutes. As stated above, the flames were much higher than seen in the below photo. The photo taken then did not turn out well enough to publish. This photo was taken from Main St. by Rainbow Conoco.

One Vehicle Rollover At Shelby

May 11th, 2006 6:00 AM-
Toole County Sheriff received a call at about 3:54 AM that there was a vehicle on its side at the south I-15 exit into Shelby. A Sheriff Deputy responded and an ambulance was dispatched to the wreck. When the officer arrived he found no one inside or around the red late model pickup truck. The vehicle was on its side in the right-hand ditch of the curved Shelby exit. Long skid marks on the pavement and in the dirt of the ditch were very visible even in the dark of the early morning. Even as this article is being published, officers from Toole County, Pondera County and the Highway Patrol continue to hunt for the owner/driver of the wrecked pickup. They have driven and walked the highways and frontage roads as far as Valier but have not yet found anyone that was involved in the accident. Officers have also been checking local establishments and motels. High speed and possibly, alcohol my have contributed to the wreck. The vehicle can be seen in the lower center of the below photo. By the time we took the photo, the wrecker driver had pulled the pickup back onto its wheels. You can clearly see though, that the vehicle is facing the wrong direction for the exit. The patrol car is facing the right direction. When NBMC first arrived, before the officers returned, the vehicle was on its side facing the wrong direction. It appears that the vehicle was skiding backwards on the exit ramp when it entered the ditch. The lights around Pamida can be seen at the top of the photo.
